Contract for renewal automation systems of four Jan De Nul dredgers
Jan De Nul Group has awarded Alewijnse the contract for the renewal of all dredging process automation systems on board four of its trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHDs).
The contract is a confirmation of their cooperation on complex automation issues.
In recent years, Jan De Nul has continuously expanded and renewed its dredging fleet and this new contract is a confirmation of the cooperation with Alewijnse on complex automation issues.
The main reason for choosing Alewijnse was the confidence in its automation specialism and its 24/7 service support. On board the four trailing suction hopper dredgers Francis Beaufort (11,300 m³), Filippo Brunelleschi (11,300 m³), Juan Sebastián de Elcano (16,500 m³) and Kaishuu (16,500 m³), Alewijnse will optimise the process automation in such a way that maximum benefits are achieved in the areas of environment, safety, productivity and reliability. This allows the company to actively contribute to the high quality and low risk of Jan De Nul's projects.
On board of each of the four trailing suction hopper dredgers, Alewijnse will renew and supply the Alarm and Monitoring System (AMS), Dredge Control System (DCS), Alewijnse Draught and Loading System (ADLS) and the Alewijnse Suction Tube System (ASTS).
In this regard, the company will provide advanced new HMI and PLC hardware, hardware engineering, software engineering, FAT testing and Bureau Veritas Classification.
The renewal of the dredging automation packages on board the four Jan De Nul vessels will form part of the lifetime extension of the dredgers. The implementation will take place worldwide.
