A new hub for connectivity in the fast growing South-East Asia market

With this strategic move, Alewijnse Vietnam is responding to the growing demand for electrical system integration services in South-East Asia’s maritime sector. Analysts expect Vietnam to experience the fastest economic growth in the region over the next decade. This will bring with it unrivalled opportunities for electrical system integration on board workboats, tugs, cargo ships, ferries and special projects in the expanding maritime sector.

Festive opening

The opening of the new office and the upgrade of the production site were celebrated in early October with a festive event attended by ambassador of the Netherlands in Vietnam his Excellency Mr. Kees van Baar and the ambassador of Romania in Vietnam her Excellency Mrs. Cristina Romila, the management and shareholders of Alewijnse, clients, suppliers, business relations, and all team members of Alewijnse Vietnam. During the event, Alewijnse and partner Heijco also signed a letter of intent to develop a joint training centre for specialised electricians.

“We seek to create room for further growth, especially in the field of engineering, one of Alewijnse Vietnam's core competencies”, explains Daniel Pop, director of Alewijnse Vietnam. ”Our team is involved in many new maritime projects, both locally and internationally, and we aim to expand our services remotely to European projects. This will reinforce Alewijnse’s position as a fully deployable and innovative system integrator.”

A hub for connectivity

The new location in downtown Hai Phong is the nexus of a wider network, not only for our staff, but also for our customers and associates. The production site is just a ten-minute drive from the office, and customers such as Damen Song Cam, Halong Shipyard and Shipyard 189 are within twenty minutes. The new location also provides more opportunities for hosting clients.

Another advantage is that Alewijnse Vietnam can now house all its office staff in one place. “Our engineers and project managers, along with our purchasing, logistics, sales, finance, HR and quality teams, can now collaborate seamlessly, enhancing our efficiency and customer service,” said Daniela Pop, business administrator at Alewijnse Vietnam.”

Panel building upgrade

In addition to the new office building, Alewijnse Vietnam has recently upgraded its existing panel building site, increasing its floor space up to 1000 m2. “In addition to a larger production area, we now have an additional room for wheelhouse (WH) consoles, our new CNC machine and warehouse facilities,” says Daniel.

“I am confident that keeping our production facilities at the current location is the best option. We have been working here since our start in 2008 with our partner Heijco, which allows us to quickly scale up with electrically-trained personnel,” concludes Daniel. “This enables us to be very flexible when producing switchboards for additional projects. All these new advantages give us the capability to grow further as a promising company which has the ambition to become the leading electrical system integrator in Southeast Asia.”
